Is there an easy way to eat healthier?

Habits can be our best friend or our worst enemy, and the same principle applies when it comes to food or diet. If you dread diets, there is no need to worry; it is not necessary to cold-turkey with a plant-based diet. Instead, there is simply one thing you must do. Add more.

Standard dietary regimes are designed to be a “quick fix” to one’s health. They do this by eliminating some or all foods the body loves and is accustomed to. However, healthy living is not achieved like a magic spell. Instead, it is a lifelong lifestyle. After the first week of enthusiasm, the body starts to crave the habituated foods, and eventually, the diet falls apart.

So what is intended by “add more”? When it comes to a plant-based diet, it is not necessary to eliminate the foods you love, but instead, one must add more fresh fruits and vegetables to what they are used to. Over time, as more healthy foods are added, the body begins to naturally seeks the healthier option. Substitutes are also available if one wanted to further ease the transition to a more nutritious lifestyle.

Banana Blueberry Smoothie

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups water
4 bananas
2 cups blueberries (fresh is best)
Lemon juice (1/2 a lemon)
Handful of Spinach

OPTIONAL:
Add 1 to 2 tbsp of the following:
• lucuma
• maca
• vanilla bean
• bee pollen
• coconut
