Hailed the “natural facelift”, the GuaSha treatment arrives at Dr. Anna’s
Move over jade roller, there’s a new facial tool in town. The Gua Sha (pronounced gwa-sah) treatment stimulates lymphatic drainage, promotes circulation and reduces muscle pain. Better still, you can perform this treatment from the comfort of your home. It’s the perfect booster for days when you (and your skin) feel a little flat.
The GuaSha is a treatment used in traditional Chinese medicine involving a light facial massage using a smooth-edged tool to perform repeated strokes over the skin. Starting with your pressure point in your eyebrows and temples, slowly and softly slide the roller over your skin around your eyes, cheeks, forehead, and jawline.
The Gua Sha treatment tightens skin and decongests clogged pores. Patients report that regular rolling reduces puffiness, improves skin texture and erases fine lines and wrinkles by improving circulation and increasing lymphatic drainage. Some have said it contours and sculpts facial features, particularly jowls and jawline!
Dr. Anna’s clinic is now offering a comprehensive 30-minute Gua Sha session that incorporates pampering, massage, facial regeneration, and massage. During your treatment, the practitioner will show you how to use the Gua Sha tool which you can take home with you, along with a clean serum to lubricate your skin, like Dr. Anna’s new 20% Vitamin C serum.
If you have had fillers or cosmetic work in the last three months, please consult with Dr. Anna before commencing with your Gua Sha treatment.
